About Us
Menadora Foundation started it’s journey on March, 2021 to help people cope with their mental health during the pandemic. It aims to deliver holistic mental health care that is accessible and affordable to ensure a better quality of life for individuals. Our psycho-social services are person-centered and designed to address the unique needs of individuals consistent with their values, hopes, and aspirations.
The Mission
Menadora Foundation is committed to providing holistic mental health care services that are affordable and accessible through client-centered and empowerment based interventions.
The Vision
Menadora Foundation envisions to improve the quality of life of persons with mental illness, so that they are not defined by their illness but rather by their own skills and qualities.
THE FIRST CHAPTER
Menadora Foundation was registered under the Companies Act, 2013 as a Section 8 Company on March2021. The discussion to start the first chapter with The Banyan began in the month of May 2021. The Emergency Care and Recovery Center in partnership with St. Thomas Charitable Trust, the Tiruvallur Collectorate, National Health Mission and The Banyan was set to begin in September 2021.

The Emergency Care and Recovery Center
The Emergency Care and Recovery Center (ECRC) in Tiruvallur District provides services for homeless persons with mental health issues by initiating acute care services at the district level
Nila’s Café
Nila’s Café is an initiative to provide employment opportunities for our client’s at ECRC Tiruvallur. A pushcart was designed to be a mini-café to sell tea, coffee, snacks, and products made by our clients.
Organic Farming
Organic Farming is being implemented at our ECRC Tiruvallur premises, where clients are involved in cultivating organic vegetables and fruits. On a daily basis, 10-12 clients are working with the supervision of village farmers. We are hoping to sell the produce across The Banyan and our other centers.
Home Again
Home Again, a model created by The Banyan, is recognized by World Health Organization in ‘Guidance on Community Mental Health Services: Promoting Person-Centered and Rights-Based Approaches’. It offers people who are living in nstitutions a way out, to form a family amongst themselves and be a part of the mainstream society.
The De-Addiction Center
The De-Addiction Center at Government Medical College Hospital Tiruvallur, is our first independent project which is in collaboration with the Government of Tamil Nadu. We will provide quarterly home visits, employment facilitation, and family level interventions, additionally. The patient will be a part of Alcoholic Anonymous Group in Tiruvallur district.
