Home Again, a model created by The Banyan, is recognized by World Health Organization in ‘Guidance on Community Mental Health Services: Promoting Person-Centered and Rights-Based Approaches’. It offers people who are living in nstitutions a way out, to form a family amongst themselves and be a part of the mainstream society. Menadora Foundation along with The Banyan has started a Home Again in Villupuram, Tamil Nadu. Here, we’ve rented houses in the community, where five clients stay in each house with a personal assistant. The clients’ will be able to access outside employment, leisure activities, manage their own homes, and so on making them independent and self-empowered.
